War We Weren’t

Short Film - 2016

Narrated by three members of a family, War We Weren’t sheds light onto eight years of bloodshed that arose in the war between Iran and Iraq in 1982 and claimed more than one million innocent lives on both sides. This war left many people both mentally and physically scarred, and many more without a place to call home. The graveyards were filled with the beautiful bodies of the young and old, while the ‘lucky’ survivors were forced to live with the painful memories of losing their loved ones.

In making this short film we hope to shift these personal experiences of a single family onto a wider global platform, highlighting the reasons why every nation should consider avoiding armed conflict at all cost.
