Kings Of Queen
Auckland, 2014 - Ongoing
Documentary
In Auckland today, there are an estimated 20,000 people living on the streets. I would never have thought that homelessness would be something I would ever have to experience first-hand. However, everything changed for our family when our teenage nephew ran away from home. We were all inherently exposed to a world we could have never imagined.
Through our troubled teenager, we met so many other teen runaways who had somehow slipped through the gaps in the system. Their adopted lifestyle had affected not only their families, but also their personal growth and development. Trapped in a situation where there was not much to be done, my husband, Johnny, and I decided to document the life of these young groups of people, in an attempt to understand the phenomenon of runaway kids.
